European Rover Challenge 2024: Join us for the Ask Me Anything session

The ERC is a prestigious international space and robotics event that has been held in Poland for nearly 10 years. It combines a world-renowned Martian rover competition, a space industry conference, and a STEM exhibit.

📅 6-8 September, 2024
📍 AGH University of Krakow, Poland

The ERC is a thrilling spectacle that showcases the best of the best in planetary exploration. With tasks designed to replicate the challenges faced by real-life rovers on Mars and the Moon, it’s a chance for the new generation of engineers to demonstrate their skills and creativity on a global stage under the watchful eye of leading industry experts and space agencies’ deputies (such as NASA, ESA, EUSPA, DLR, CNES and POLSA) who, at the invitation of the organizers, visit the event and share their knowledge and experience.

The ERC competition is held on a special ‘Martian track’. The European Rover Challenge Marsyard is a unique installation designed by planetary geologists, inspired by a selected part of the Red Planet. Active volcanoes, impact craters, traces of water activity – these are just some of the elements of the track. The so-called Marsyard attracts the attention of scientists from around the world because of its faithful reproduction of Martian geological processes.

69 Teams from 23 countries have registered to participate in the European Rover Challenge 2024. Out of those, the ERC finals will host the best 27 Teams selected by the ERC jury. They will represent countries such as Bangladesh, Denmark, Germany, Greece, India, Italy, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, Turkiye, UK & Serbia. You can learn more about the competitors in the ERC Hall of Fame.

We wouldn’t miss this exciting event either, and we’ll be there representing ESA BIC Poland as speakers and participants. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in space-related business to connect with us directly. On Friday, September 6th, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, we will be available for Ask Me Anything session at the B-8 meeting zone. Whether you’re an early-stage startup, a company looking to explore new opportunities, or simply passionate about space innovation, we would love to meet you and discuss how ESA BIC Poland can support your ambitions.

In addition to our availability for Ask Me Anything session, we are thrilled to highlight the participation of two startups incubated at ESA BIC Poland in the discussion panel titled Space Exploration as a Catalyst for Innovation on Earth. This panel will take place on the same day, September 6th, at 2:20 PM. Noemi Zabari from Astroteq.ai and Jakub Stojek from Orbital Matter will be sharing their insights on how space exploration drives technological advancements and contributes to solving challenges here on Earth. Their experiences and perspectives promise to offer valuable lessons for anyone interested in the intersection of space technology and innovation.

The ERC provides a fertile ground for collaboration and innovation, especially for those looking to dive into the space industry. The event’s focuses on connecting business, academia, and innovation, so it is a great place to discover new possibilities and expand your network.

Mark your calendars and make sure to visit the ERC 2024. We look forward to meeting you in Krakow and discussing how we can help you take your space-related ideas to the next level.
