empiriQa is a deep-tech spin-off from the Nicolaus Copernicus University, commercializing 20 years of expertise in Quantum Key Distribution (QKD). We specialize in developing high-efficiency entangled photon sources and critical modules for Optical Ground Stations (OGS), facilitating secure satellite-to-ground communication.
Our core competency lies in merging world-class academic research with industrial space-sector experience. Led by Prof. Piotr Kolenderski, a renowned expert in quantum optics, our team is also establishing the region’s first independent Verification & Validation (V&V) center for quantum hardware to eliminate implementation backdoors.
With a proven track record in executing ESA projects and delivering commercial quantum security solutions, empiriQa provides physically secure, future-proof communication systems designed to withstand the upcoming quantum computing era.
During the incubation phase, we will perform in-depth analyses of quantum cybersecurity deployment across key sectors and develop a comprehensive risk assessment of “side-channel” vulnerabilities specific to this technology.
