ESA BIC Poland Bootcamp – Edition III: pre-incubation programme summary

The third edition of the ESA BIC Poland Bootcamp closed with a final event at the Rotunda PKO in Warsaw. Over the course of two weeks, 10 ambitious teams took part in an intensive pre-incubation programme designed to help transform bold space-related ideas into business-ready concepts.

Opening with Inspiration

The programme began with a presentation of ESA BIC Poland’s offer, followed by a Success Story keynote. Przemysław Dróżdż from Liftero, one of our alumni, shared his company’s journey, highlighting how incubation supported their growth and international ambitions. Another highlight of the opening session was the presentation by Monika Banaszek-Cymerman, Director of the Innovation Department at Polish Space Agency (POLSA), who presented the Agency’s wide range of initiatives for startups and innovators, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in strengthening the national space ecosystem.

The initiative was organised by  Industrial Development Agency, with strategic support from  POLSA and delivery by the Foundation for Technology Entrepreneurship.
Across nearly 20 hours of expert-led workshops, mentoring sessions, and one-to-one consultations, participants had the opportunity to:

  • sharpen their business models,
  • explore funding opportunities and go-to-market strategies,
  • receive tailored feedback from mentors and industry experts,
  • prepare for the next big step — applying for incubation at ESA BIC Poland.

These sessions provided not only practical tools, but also a structured environment where teams could refine their thinking and gain confidence in presenting their solutions.

The Final Event

The Bootcamp concluded with a pitching session, where the teams showcased their projects live in front of the ESA BIC Poland community, including mentors and partners. Thanks to the support of PKO Bank Polski, the finale took place in the Rotunda PKO in Warsaw. The atmosphere was friendly and supportive, showing how much each team had progressed in just two weeks.

The agenda also featured a special presentation on fundraising opportunities from public funds for space projects, giving participants and partners valuable insights into resources that can accelerate innovative ventures.

Why It Matters

The Bootcamp is more than a training initiative. It is a platform where innovators can safely test their ideas, receive guidance from experienced experts, and connect with partners who share the mission of advancing the Polish space sector. By combining the energy of startups with the knowledge of mentors, alumni, and institutions, the Bootcamp strengthens the ecosystem where young companies can thrive.

Looking Ahead

For the participating teams, this is just the beginning. Many are now preparing to submit their applications to ESA BIC Poland, aiming to join the incubation programme and take the next step toward transforming their space projects into successful businesses.

For us, this Bootcamp highlighted once again the impact of teamwork in innovation. We’re proud to stand by these teams and look forward to seeing their ideas contribute to the growth of space technologies in Poland and beyond.
